Invisible Fence by StayDog Marking 35 years of Technology for Keeping Pets Safe at Home
More than two million dogs have been protected by this local electronic pet containment pioneer
Malvern, PA Jan 2008 – The hometown company of Invisible fence by StayDog celebrates the 35th anniversary of electronic pet containment technology designed to help dog lovers keep their pets safe at home. Back in 1973 the late Richard Peck, a native of the Philadelphia suburbs, became alarmed at the number of dogs he saw roaming the streets or injured by cars. He set out to develop a technology that would keep pets in their yards. He worked with the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and Battelle Laboratories. His patented invention became the Invisible Fence® Brand pet containment system.
The very first Invisible Fence Dealership which was established in Wayne, PA is still currently in operation out of its Malvern, PA location as Invisible Fence® by StayDog. It is owned and operated by several key people who were part of the management and ownership of the original corporate group located in Malvern. Bill Annesley of Gladwyne and Jeff Hanhausen of Wayne partnered with John Dehaven of Downingtown and Kelly Cancelmo of West Chester to form the present owners of StayDog; together the four have a combined experience of over 60 years! To date more than 30,000 local pet owners have installed the system, over 2 million dogs nationwide.
Dr. Peter Eeg, a veterinarian who has a long association with Invisible Fence® states, "The Invisible Fence system safely and effectively keeps pets from leaving their yards. By combining the proper animal training with proven technology and customized installation, the system provides a marvelous alternative to conventional fences. The key, as I see it, is the combination of training with technology. You must have the right combination for a system such as this to work."
Business Development Manager and Partner, Kelly Cancelmo says, "We are committed to keeping pets safe at home. The equation is simple; choosing the Invisible Fence® Brand solution results in fewer dogs escaping from the yard, fewer dogs running away from home and fewer dogs getting hit by cars. Estimates indicate that more than one million dogs are hit by cars each year and another 60,000 dogs are lost or stolen."
StayDog has now expanded it's offer to pet owners to include other pet behavioral solutions, a designer pet boutique, and at-home behavioral training. Cancelmo invites anyone to come by their store at 208 E. King Street in Malvern or call 610-644-1334. "We'll be happy to demonstrate our product at anytime," she adds.
Invisible Fence® Brand's certified training protocol called "Perfect Start" works on dogs as young as eight weeks. For 35 years, we have been keeping dogs and cats safe at home with a 98% customer satisfaction rating. More than one million customers trust Invisible Fence Brand pet containment and our local professionals to safely contain their dogs.
